Client: St.Paul's Cathedral
Across the heritage sector, a profound challenge is emerging. For each new carpenter or stonemason trained, several experienced craftspeople retire. This imbalance threatens the future care of Britain’s most iconic buildings, including St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The Wren Centre of Excellence has been established to address this challenge directly. Here, the craftspeople who safeguard the Cathedral today will pass on their skills and knowledge to the makers of tomorrow through a dedicated apprenticeship programme.
Designed as both a practical and an inspiring place of learning, the new Centre will nurture a new generation of craftspeople. With its doors open to collaboration and exchange, the Wren International Centre of Excellence will stand as an international hub for heritage craft.
