St Maurice’s Covert is a small but historically rich passageway between the High Street and the Cathedral in Winchester which originally served as a gateway to the city’s cathedral precinct and has since become underused and unloved.

We have been engaging with the people of Winchester over an 18-month period through a series of drop-in sessions, workshops, and spatial experiments that have included hosting pop-up coffee shops and events on site. This has enabled us to fully understand their aspirations for this forgotten space and to ensure that the tight budget is used most effectively.
